Surplus Hysteria

This is a great catch. Apparently, Paul Ryan was among the Republican hacks who ten years ago went along with the Alan Greenspan line that the country was threatened…by surpluses that were too large and a national debt that would be paid off too quickly.

So, to review, like pretty much all contemporary Republicans of any influence Ryan doesn’t care at all about deficits and cares enormously about upper-class tax cuts.   Very, very serious.  As Obama correctly noted earlier this week, the guy’s a joke, and his reputation among centrist pundits is a bigger one (that unfortunately is on us.)
