During a meeting with the prime minster of Japan:
When asked by a reporter about why the U.S. didn’t share their Iran war plans with Japan, President Donald Trump said it was necessary for the element of surprise. The president followed this with a joke, saying, “Who knows better about surprise than Japan? Ok, why didn’t you tell me about Pearl Harbor?”
Newsflash: I don’t think that was a joke. Unless you consider fascist kidding on the square “joking,” which I guess is now the Official Style Guide of the establishment media since June 16, 2015.
Since we’re turning Japanese, I saw this documentary about the celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa on a plane a couple of days ago. It was moderately interesting, and made me want to visit his restaurant in Denver, but we went to Sushi Den instead (which was awesome as always, for those of you who are into this kind of thing).
