The Pierogi Vendors on Martha’s Vineyard Are the Real Fascists

Three guesses regarding who this story involves, and the first two don’t count.
An infamous criminal defense attorney was ridiculed Wednesday after melting down at a farmer’s market in Martha’s Vineyard.
Alan Dershowitz, who defended President Donald Trump during his first impeachment hearing, was caught on video accusing a local vendor of discriminating against him. The vendor allegedly refused to serve Dershowitz, who talked about the episode on his show on Rumble, because of his support for Israel in the War in Gaza.
Note that the Dersh has already changed his story about this incident, to try to wedge it into the not completely absurd on its face category. The original version:
Here is the exchange between Dershowitz and the vendor – in Dershowitz’s telling – of pierogi denied:
DERSHOWITZ: Can I have six pierogi?
“BIGOTED VENDOR”: No.
DERSHOWITZ: Oh, you’ve run out of pierogi? Too bad.
“BIGOTED VENDOR”: No, no, no. We have plenty of pierogi. I just won’t sell them to you.
DERSHOWITZ: What do you mean you won’t sell them to me?
“BIGOTED VENDOR”: I won’t sell them to you because I don’t approve of your politics. I don’t approve of who you’ve represented. I don’t approve of who you support.
DERSHOWITZ: What is it about my politics that you don’t–
“BIGOTED VENDOR”: I’m not gonna tell you. I just don’t like your politics.
“The clear implication was that he opposed me because I defended Donald Trump on the floor of the Senate,” Dershowitz added. “I think that’s illegal.”
To the extent the word “illegal” retains some meaning in Trumpland other than “something Trumpists don’t like when other people do it” (not much in other words), it’s not illegal for a private food vendor to deny someone a pierogi on Martha’s Vineyard because of the person’s political beliefs, or related despicable behavior, such as defending Donald Trump on the floor of the Senate.
So a few hours later Dershowitz was claiming, obviously on the basis of no evidence other than perhaps the suspicious skin coloration of the Insolent Pierogi Vendor, that the real reason he was denied this delicacy was because of his support for Israel’s military actions in Gaza. Why the difference? Because it would be illegal for the vendor to refuse to sell to Dershowitz because of Dershowitz’s religion.
Still not following the argument? Then I’m afraid you do not have what is known as a legal mind.
