DNC in Disarray

Literally. What the hell is going on with the Ken Martin regime at the Democratic National Committee? I didn’t comment on the battle between him and David Hogg, since while I appreciate what Hogg was doing, I can see his plan to challenge lame incumbents being divisive in that role. I didn’t really know what to think. But now the top union allies of the Democrats are bailing on Martin, basically accusing him of forcing them out. This is Randi Weingarten at the American Federation of Teachers and Lee Saunders of AFSCME. You cannot find two more stalwart supporters of Democratic politics–including absolutely critical GOTV efforts and funding than Weingarten and Saunders. I know people here love to blame the media over its coverage of Democrats. Sometimes that’s justified. But in this case, the DNC has no money, the rats are fleeing the ship, and the Democrats are going into the midterms with their central committee in complete tatters with no plans to get things in order.
This is really bad. Ken Martin probably needs to go. Quite a metaphor for Democrats in the Trump era going on right now.
Also, any anti-union bullshit from commenters here will get you tossed. Weingarten and Saunders leaving their positions in the DNC is nothing like what is happening with the Teamsters or, given the age of our commenters, the only thing they know about unions, which are the hard-hat riots a mere 55 years ago. These are the best Democrats we have saying they can’t work with Ken Martin.
