Stockholm syndrome

Segregationist perverts in the U.S. keep trying to spread their disease abroad. First it was to corporations, and now they’re trying it with the capitals of foreign nations.
A city official in Stockholm has said the municipality has no plans to comply after one of its offices received a letter seeking to impose Donald Trump’s rollback of diversity measures, in what is believed to be the first such missive sent to a foreign government.
“It’s so bizarre,” said Jan Valeskog, Stockholm’s vice-mayor for planning. “It’s our political priorities that count, not the ones from this embassy or any other embassies.”
What a tactful way to say “Who in the unholy fuck do these Yanks think they are?”
The letter – described by French officials as “a form of interference” – asked recipients to complete, sign and return a form certifying that they “do not operate any programmes to promote diversity, equity and inclusion”.
I haven’t been able to find a copy of the letter so I don’t know whether some sort of consequences follow for failing to comply with the request for a certification of discrimination.
The letter added: “If you do not agree to sign this document, we would appreciate it if you could provide detailed reasons, which we will forward to our legal teams.”
Again, I don’t have the letter, so I don’t know if the minions of Shortfinger gave any reason someone who has a real job should take time out of their busy day to humor a bunch of bigoted fucknuggets or their “legal teams.”
Valeskog said Stockholm had no intention of complying. “Of course, we’ll not sign it, we won’t return it, we’ll do nothing about it,” he said. “So now it’s up to the embassy to decide what happens next.”
That is the correct and legal response. That is, it is too idiotic to warrant a response and I don’t expect the man to hurl a brick through one of the embassy’s windows. However, reading between the lines, he does appear to say “Nice little embassy you have here. Be a shame if someone decided to shut off the water.”
After describing the fallout over the letter as “their headache, not ours” earlier in the week, he again stressed that the US embassy stood to lose much more if it decided to break off its relationship with the municipality. “The embassy now and then needs our building permits, of course, so it’s in their interest to have a good contact and cooperation with the city of Stockholm,” he said. “And so this is really strange.”
Stay on topic or you’ll be drowned in a vat of J. Pirro’s favorite tipple.
