Meanwhile, breaking news from Axios: Joe Biden uses notes in meetings with donors he doesn’t know:

President Biden has been using notecards in closed-door fundraisers, calling on prescreened donors and then consulting his notes to provide detailed answers, according to people familiar with the routine.

Why it matters: Biden’s reliance on notecards to help explain his own policy positions — on questions he knows are coming — is raising concerns among some donors about Biden’s age.

That’s actually the least trashy part of the story, if you’re not inclined to get out of the boat and go look for yourself.

I see people argue in the comments here that Trump has always sounded this bizarrely incoherent. This simply isn’t true: if you watch representative clips from him even eight years ago he’s vastly worse now.

The crazy-making thing is that, to the extent that age-related cognitive decline is a legitimate issue in regard to Biden, it’s a much more legitimate issue in regard to Trump, who increasingly sounds like someone in the not so early stages of dementia.

But, as the Elite Media remind us constantly in an unending stream of daily stories, “people” are much more worried about the former issue than the latter. Exactly why that is will remain an eternal mystery apparently.
