At least he can be a sore loser for once
I would have preferred anybody but the Yankees winning the World Series as opposed to the Astros. But I will say that 1)I’m happy for Dusty Baker, who has been an excellent manager for a long time, and 2)we can at least think of this particular Phillies superfan:
The fact that Alito is one of the most resentful and petulant people on Earth despite getting almost everything he’s ever wanted is pretty much American conservatism right there in aspic.
If I might engage in some Real Talk, I have no problem with shit-talking the Astros about their cheating, but as I’ve said multiple times about the Patriots I strongly doubt that it was material to their success in 2017. Even at the the time there wasn’t much evidence that the sign-stealing really mattered, and the fact that they remain the class of the American League on a non-exorbitant payroll should settle the question. They didn’t win because of some can-banging; the win because they’re really good at identifying and developing talent, and at a certain point the focus on cheating becomes counterproductive sour grapes. Never be Ryan Grigson!
