LGM Film Club, Part 286: Discontinuity

Discontinuity is a very nice short film from Lori Felker. Released in 2015, it is the brief and somewhat comedic story about a couple who are living on opposite sides of the country. The woman is living in San Diego and has been for two years. The man is somewhere else, presumably on the east coast, and has filled his space with a lot of cats that he names after second basemen because “they’re scrappy,” like cats. But they aren’t doing real good. She may be moving toward leaving him and perhaps is falling in love with her boss, who is a woman. He’s pretty clueless and socially inept. Also, there are lots of cats. For a humorous look at the hard spaces in dying relationships, you can do a lot worse than this.
