BREAKING! MUST CREDIT LGM! Politician Engages In Political Activities!
You may remember Ben Mathis-Lilly from “a guilt-by-kind-of-association-once-removed smear job of Kirsten Gillibrand so inept and fact-challenged the corrections section was almost as long as the original text.” Well, he’s back on the chicken:
The headline that promises "what a desperate, needy woman" and delivers "politician blackballed by major donors for confronting men who abuse their power is now working to raise small donations" (but, let's be fair, concludes "what a desperate, needy woman") https://t.co/hoLGjBI6hv

This is literally the article — he receives a completely bog-standard fake-personalized fundraising email, that emphasizes that the politician does not want to take money from large corporations. That’s it. What the more liberal wing of the party…wants prospective leaders to be doing, in other words. But when Gillibrand does it, it’s just so…grasping, ambitious, hysterical, emotional, perfidious…I can’t quite put my finger on it. And, anyway, can you really trust someone who didn’t move to another state to do her legislative internship in college?
With respect to the implicit point of the article — it is imperative not so much that the Democratic Party run on a progressive platform in 2020, but rather than the party transform itself into a Bernie Sanders personality cult, and if other politicians move to the left it is critical not to take “yes” for an answer — I’m going to continue to vote “no.”
