Today In Journamalism
- Sometimes there is a powerful sign that you’ve chosen the wrong profession. If you’re an editor and you greenlighted a story about how people raped in prison secretly enjoy it, that would be one of those times.
- ESPN pulling out of Frontline’s coverage of the NFL’s concussion crisis. For the best; hopefully ESPN will now be able to devote more resources like real scandals like an NCAA player selling a jersey with his name on it or something.
- Conservative race-baiters pretend not to understand why “people commit senseless murder, are immediately arrested and will be jailed, and nobody defends their actions” may not be a major story.
- I can’t really say that Maureen Dowd continuing to keep her job is inexplicable, but I wish I lived in a universe rational enough that it was inexplicable.
