Have you ever been experienced?

Former GOP Grand Wiz…er, Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott is very concerned about John Edwards. Well, of the 100 people in the Senate Lott is certainly one of them, so let’s hear what he has to say:

But Senator Trent Lott, Republican of Mississippi and a fellow member of the Intelligence Committee, said that Democrats would be making a mistake if they were planning to use Mr. Edwards’s service on the committee as evidence that he is now ready to participate in Oval Office decision-making.

“The very idea they would maintain that being on the Intelligence Committee for four years would qualify him in a national security-foreign policy sense is ridiculous,” Mr. Lott said. “That is a very slim reed.”

You know, Lott may have a point. Lott is a very experienced Senator, and Edwards may lack some of what a Trent Lott could bring to the table. Consider the areas in which Edwards, unlike Trent Lott, lacks experience:

–Working to keep Ole Miss segregated

–Expressing support for the Strom Thurmond’s presidential platform…in 2002.

–Reflexively voting against all civil rights legislation and any recognition of civil rights leaders

–Sponsoring federal judges who break innumerable ethical violations by trying to get more lenient sentences for cross-burners

–Waxing nostalgic for the time in which the Deep South was composed of apartheid police states

–Gluing your toupee on just right so that it doesn’t become askew and embarrass you in front of the editors of Southern Partisan.
