By While I’m sure most of you don’t need me to tell you this, last night’s Daily Show interview with Wolf Blitzer was a real gem. Catch the reply today if you missed it. Wolf came on with a toy model of the CNN election coverage bus, and Jon Stewart immediately started grilling him about how the media could have screwed up their coverage of the Iraq war, intelligence, etc so badly. Wolf seemed stunned and completely unable to even begin to answer. His defense of his own organization as well as the CIA seemed to amount to “people make mistakes. We’ll try to do better.”
The Daily Show is quite good, but it really shouldn’t be as important to our national political discourse as it is. Exhibit #3,241 of pathological incompetence of our national news media.
