Quiet Pine Trees
One of the small, rare joys that make twitter faintly tolerable has, for me, been Quiet Pine Trees. The product of T.R. Darling, Quiet Pine Trees is a thread of micro-science fiction, stories of less than 140 (now 280) characters. I’ve quite enjoyed these over the years, that Darling has now collected some of them in book form. I highly recommend reading the stories, and supporting the book!
Boosted, with credit to jim, some guy from iowa:
For millennia, not an instant has passed without a dog howling somewhere on Earth. The dogs remember the creature just below reality, trapped mere seconds in the retreating future, who was banished when dogs allied themselves with humans. The howls are a warning not to return.
