The dodging and weaving in this thread is classic. As I’ve said in comments, someone needs to come up for a concise term to describe “coming up with imaginary moral slights so you can avoid addressing the fact that someone’s charges against you were correct.” Although timb is probably right that “Nixonland” still works. Really, “Republican legislator rewards prominent, wholly uncritical Republican propagandists with insider access” is far from the biggest story in the world; I have no idea why Altmeade won’t just admit it. But very privileged people in a permanent state of baseless grievance is pretty much what it means to be a Republican in 2011.
