This week, I’d like to highlight a recent discovery, Native American Netroots. This superb blog mostly consists of lengthy posts on Native American history which are well-written and enjoyable to read. See for instance a couple of posts from this week. Here’s one on Uncas, exploring the Mohegan leader’s history in 17th Connecticut and how he was memorialized by 19th century whites.

Here’s another on the Mandan leader Sheheke and his 1807 journey to Washington, D.C., after the successful return of the Lewis and Clark Expedition.

For those of you out there interested in Native American issues, Native American Netroots is a very enjoyable blog and one that I recommend strongly.
