I tried to come up with a response to Chris Hitchens this morning, and I just couldn’t. He’s not the sort that I would welcome back to our side. I’m sure, for Chris, all this is part of a seemless narrative: North Vietnam good; Henry Kissinger bad; Ronald Reagan bad; Bill Clinton bad; G.W. Bush good(?!?); John Kerry bad (he didn’t tell us back in 1998 that Ahmed Chalabi was a crook).

The, I dare say, Orwellian aspect of this is that it seems Hitchens really doesn’t appreciate his own contradictions; He has always been at war with Eurasia.
