The entire Republican Party is now committed to believing or pretending to believe that a D-list MAGA reality star was a viable candidate to become mayor of a city where Trump is widely despised. But nobody went at it harder than the Bari Press:

Bari Weiss ran a massive push to support Spencer Platt and his campaign for mayor of Los Angeles, which was closely coordinated with Rupert Murdoch's media outlets in addition to CBS. Neither ever reported a word about Platt's extensive criminal record.

Running a straightforward MAGA campaign in LA does indeed make exactly as much sense as running a Trump-loving anti-vaxx meathead in New York City, although alas for pundits at The Free Press for rather different reasons than they think! Anyway, back to the regular programming about liberal echo chambers.
