Pelosi Retiring

Nancy Pelosi is one of the most important Speakers of the House in its history. It’s also well past time for her to retire and now she is taking that step. Four decades is more than long enough. Symbolically, this is a huge transition away from the Democratic Party gerontocracy, which to say the least needed to happen years ago. There are plenty of superb Democrats in her district, so I’m glad she made the right move here and stepped out when she was still in charge of all of her faculties, unlike, say, Dianne Feinstein.
