I’m Sorry I Wrote about …*Checks Notes*…Cinnamon Rolls

A few random thoughts on my previous post:

  • I haven’t learned how to bake cinnamon rolls yet, but the Pillsbury Grands have always been a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. When my in-laws said they were going to make cinnamon rolls for me, I assumed they’d be from scratch. They weren’t. I have no control over that.
  • I don’t shop at Wal-Mart, mostly because there are stores that are closer to me. But lots of people who don’t have access to money or variety shop at them, and being an insufferable snob about that is problematic, to put it diplomatically.
  • I do not have a TikTok account, because TikTok is for The Youths, and I’m not a Youth. However, I am terminally online, and when you’re terminally online, things like viral recipes are probably going to be in your periphery.
  • I made the cinnamon rolls myself, because–quite frankly–they were delicious. And I wasn’t expecting them to be, but here we are.
  • I shared the recipe here because they tasted good and they were easy to make, and I assumed people enjoy learning about things that taste good and are easy to make.
  • You all use convenience ingredients. Every single one of you. All the time.
  • I have posted TONS of recipes on here and they’ve ranged from pretty humble to pretty sophisticated and I feel like I’ve more than proven my foodie bona fides.
  • I post recipes with the understanding that my audience probably has a broad range of access to money and ingredients, along with varying amounts of skill, time, and energy. This recipe is perfect for people who want a more decadent experience with ingredients that are easy to find and inexpensive. If that’s not what you’re looking for, you could always skip the recipe.
  • I specifically like posting recipes that are time-saving and easy to prepare. That’s kinda my thing, because I’m lazy. If you’re not into that I’m probably not the food writer for you.
  • I absolutely prefer cooking from scratch, but I don’t prefer it so strongly that I cannot enjoy things like gooey, store-bought cinnamon rolls.
