WaPo Shoots Another Brick
Carey Purcell decided to announce that she is done with dating members of a particular religious faith. The Washington Post decided — and in this case, it might actually be pure clickbait, which would be the charitable explanation! — to publish it. The argument is as follows:
A blond WASP — have I mentioned she’s blond? — dated two largely non-observant (or, as she somewhat grossly describes them, “lackadaisical Jews.”)
They had overbearing mothers.
The relationships didn’t work, even though she is “blond, often wear pearls and can mix an excellent, and very strong, martini.” Both of these men ended up marrying women who are Jewish.
Clearly, “dating me had been their last act of defiance against cultural or familial expectations before finding someone who warranted their parents’ approval.” There is no other possible explanation.
This was published by a major newspaper. In 2018. I recommend Talia Levin’s parody version instead. And I’ll give Helen Rosner the last words:
Anyway this is yet another lovely illustration that Christian supremacy in America is a real and horrifically insidious thing, thank you to the Washington Post for reminding me yet again that I and my family are not permitted full membership in the club, xoxoxo

Oh wow neat the author of that WaPo op-ed wherein she compares herself to Carrie Bradshaw and bemoans that potential husbands are blinded to her true value has written um hey turns out the SAME EXACT OP-ED before, but sub Hamilton fans for the Jews https://t.co/zZ1CNBNylL

…well, at least the thing has generated a lot of good, incredulous one-liners.
