If history has taught us anything, if the Pats are down at halftime in a Super Bowl, they have no chance!

Seriously, the Eagles might not win, but either way Pederson deserves a lot of credit for the gutty, clearly correct decision to go for it at the end of the first half, and he would have deserved the credit even if the play had failed. His rejection of irrational old school bullshit — exactly why the Mike Lombardis of the world don’t like him — is a big part of the reason that he was able to take over a team with an emaciated talent base and take it to the Super Bowl with his backup QB in two years. I hope Aaron Rodgers is watching carefully — if an innovative young coach can do this with Nick Foles…in related news, Tanier has a nice roundup of teams recycling hack offensive coordinators with no history of success or a history of success only when Jimmy Johnson hands them All-Pros at every position rather than looking for the new Pederson.

Another way to see that these organizations know what they’re doing — the number of players playing key roles in this game who were given away by other AFC Least teams for no obvious reason.

Let’s hope for a second half as good as the first. I can confirm that Modern Times black stout is excellent, and that aesthetically Prince towers over Justin Timberlake like the Pats soar over the Jets.
