People write things in the intarwebs. These are some of them:

• Finally, the New York media addresses arguably the most important scandal of our time: the retired numbers of the Calgary Flames.  Mike Vernon, but not Al MacInnis or Theoren Fleury?  It’s like the Yankees retiring Tino Martinez’s number but not Jeter or Rivera. (Vernon had his moments, and played very well in the championship year of 88-9. On the other hand, his dismal follow-up years — save percentages of .870 and .878! — were the single biggest reason a team with several Hall of Famers in their prime never won another playoff series.  Indeed, I think I just insulted Tino Martinez.)
