"I’m Keith Hernandez!"

I’m generally a fan of Keith Hernandez as a color commentator, and certainly the Cohen/Hernandez combo is infinitely preferable to the Michael Kay horror show at Al-Yankeezera. I even once had an online argument by proxy with Bill James about his claim that Mattingly was a better than Hernandez, something that he certainly remains wrong about. But, yes, his musings about women being in dugouts are certainly those of a walking phallus. (I particularly like his claim that it’s not really about gender, it’s about the fact that a massage therapist is in the dugout! Yeah, I hear people raving about trainers being in the dugout all the time…) And, worse, I’m sure that this will lead to various invocations of “p.c.”! from various members of the media, which should remind us what the term actually means: “I should be able to be an asshole and make bigoted comments without having to defend them on the merits.“
