A Question
Chris Sullentrop certainly richly deserves the coveted “wanker of the day” award. Even sillier than the criticism of Kos is the “slap on the wrist”–implying an ethical violation, but just a minor one– he gives to Jerome Armstrong. For what? He didn’t even blog during the relevant time period. When, exactly, did switching jobs raise ethical questions? The only interesting question about Sullentrop’s argument is whether the idiocy or self-righteousness is more risible.
But, anyway, given this logic, here’s my question: when can we expect the earnest thumb-suckers in Slate and The Wall Street Journal about Peggy Noonan leaving her columnist gig at, er, The Wall Street Journal to work for the Bush/Cheney campaign? Why, before that, I thought she was a completely objective journalist! Oh, the humanity! I definitely expect a suspended sentence to be doled out for this deeply troubling ethical lapse…
