I was really struck by this photo of Venus through Saturn's rings: Venus is the dot. It reminded me of a time, not too long ago I guess, back in.

Sally Ride indeed blasted through the space ceiling for women. Her death is a sad day. It's made even sadder by the fact that despite her pioneering past, she couldn't.
