I don’t really have thoughts on this except to say that she after that brief surge over the summer, she didn’t really run a very good campaign. Of course, people such as Booker and Castro actually have run good campaigns but have received no traction either, so the extent to which this matters is debatable. It increasingly seems that Democratic voters are simply shellshocked and, lacking anyone organizing them or any real historical perspective on what the election of Trump actually means, only middling white men are being considered by the vast majority because they think that’s who can be elected. Harris was far from my preferred candidate, but there are larger issues at play here. But it is what it is. Her political career is far from over and she has a chance to be a real force in the Senate and a future presidential candidate in 4 or 8 or 12 years.
