The Trump administration may be struggling a bit to enforce compliance with its ban against Huawei:

Is the U.S. already struggling to force companies to comply with its ban on trade with the Chinese firm Huawei? A recent New York Times article suggests that the answers is yes, and that U.S. firms are already trying to find loopholes and work-arounds to continue trade with Huawei. That the U.S. would run into enforcement problems isn’t surprising. The U.S. government has long struggled to force companies to abide by technology transfer rules.

This matters. A technology trade war between China and the United States is going to be costly to a lot of folks, and the Trump administration should have some notion of how it intends to force firms to go along.
