Why Won’t Trump Quit?

As the scandals piled up around Trump and his administration I became convinced he would resign. At any moment! Surely this controversy would do him in! It didn’t happen. A third of the way into year two of this disaster he’s still there and frankly I don’t think he has any plans to resign.
It’s clear he hates the job. He’s a profoundly lazy man and being president is hard, stressful work. I’ve never seen a man look unhappier at what he’s doing. I don’t know why he won’t leave. People keep telling me he won’t, ever–he’s too stubborn and he has to *show* us all by hanging in there. But that level of stubborn pettiness takes a crapload of work. And, as I’ve said, Trump is a profoundly lazy man. Isn’t he tired? Wouldn’t he like to get back to banging porn stars and golfing? Wouldn’t he like to make this all go away?
Some people claim he can’t–it opens him up to legal problems. But isn’t he in legal jeopardy now?
The whole thing just infuriates me…and fascinates me at the same time: Why won’t Trump quit?
