Weird Gelatin Molds: A Tuesday Evening Open Thread

The gelatin mold is a lost art, of sorts. The appeal of gelatin is largely unknown to me. Perhaps this is because of Jell-o and Lutheran hot dish potlucks (let me assure you, there is nothing lucky about it) growing up. It’s a wonder I have recovered to like food. Anyway, back in the day, gelatin molds of all sorts were pretty common on American tables. Not so much today. But the always cool Bitter Southerner site has some great examples of creative gelatin molds from southerners. Not entirely sure I want to eat them, but they are neat to look at.

It’s pretty obvious if I’m writing about gelatin that I have nothing useful to offer tonight, so here’s an open thread for you, as more of these have been requested.
