NFL Open Thread

With Dr. Lemieux perhaps engrossed in hockey season, I realized we don’t have an open thread up. Enjoy the last days of Marvin Lewis, as the Bengals have not even shown up against Minnesota. And enjoy Eagles’ fans premature arrogance being crushed like every Philadelphia sports fan should always expect for their teams. As for ridiculousness, the idea that the Raiders-Cowboys does not get flexed out of Sunday Night Football, despite both teams being highly mediocre, because it’s all about ratings should tremendously frustrate actual football fans. The Seahawks-Rams is obviously the game of the week (OK, fine, it’s Pats-Steelers, as New England beats Pittsburgh for the 34th straight time), yet because the Rams don’t have a national fan base, it is barely being shown anywhere outside of the West Coast and not even everywhere there.

[SL] I must observe that Andy Benoit has written the crowning masterpiece of his career. I can’t wait for his forthcoming column about how actually Christian Hackenberg is better than Russell Wilson because if you WATCH THE TAPE you’ll see clearly that he’s taller and whiter. Anyway, Benoit must be very excited about joining the Broncos front office.
