The good thing about doing research is finding awesome things for your writing. The bad thing is that research is kind of boring. Sometimes it’s really boring. So I amuse myself by tweeting about the weird things I find. Luckily for me, I find a lot of things amusing. Anyway, I’ve been doing some work on the gay rights battles in Oregon in the 90s. Thanks to the gay rights groups collecting material on their opponents, I have access to some of the wackiness. So here’s a brief collection of images from today’s research.

Awesome, now have the flyers for my courses next year made.

I also understand one can get AIDS from Barack Obama.

That was nearly 25 years ago. Today, one can’t drive through Roseburg or Medford or Redding without stopping for some random anal sex in the rest areas.

And here’s a gay rights group briefly changing the sign to my home town when it passed an anti-gay rights ordinance in 1992, a moment that basically made me hate my town. I am still deeply ambivalent about it today.

Anyway, this is pretty much my life this fall. Well, that, hiking, and beer.
