Trump – the GOP’s next logical step

Unlike … many people apparently, I don’t think Trump’s rhetoric and embrace of hate groups makes him significantly more alarming than the rest of the GOP.

But then, I don’t think it makes him significantly different from the rest of the GOP. For as long as I can remember, the GOP has been extremely and openly racist (and willing to apply the same formula of Fear! Hate! Destroy! to anyone else who could serve as a handy target for the Republican voter’s seemingly boundless ire).

And the GOP of course is continuing the fine old American tradition of encouraging the white proles to stamp on the darkies so they don’t join forces and introduce their common enemy to Mme. Guillotine.

Trump isn’t a shocking mutation, he’s a chance for everyone to see how evolution works. He’s exactly what you should expect from a party that allows a man who spoke to a hate group founded by David Duke to remain its congressional whip.

Or how about Louie Terror Babies Gohmert (R-Texas)? I can only assume anyone who is shocked by Trump’s obnoxious blather about immigrants has never heard Gohmert run his face. Here’s a sample.

And then there’s The Cruz itself. Cruz is yet another human sewage tank that is currently stinking up Capitol Hill thanks to the Tea Party.

The Tea Party that we know and loathe is comprised of incandescently angry people who, on Nov. 5, 2008, realized the federal government is the worst thing ever. No wait, that’s what they put on the press releases. They’re a bunch of racists driven to stand in the streets and screech because there’s a black man in the White House.

These people haven’t ever been subtle, or peaceful. The differences between Republicans who bellow about inner city thugs and welfare queens, Ted Cruz on African-Americans who have the temerity to protest police brutality

“If you look at the Black Lives Matter movement, one of the most disturbing things is more than one of their protests have embraced rabid rhetoric, rabid anti-police language, literally suggesting and embracing and celebrating the murder of police officers,” the Texas senator said. “That is disgraceful.”

and Trump’s bombast can only be detected with an electron microscope. The only significant difference is that Trump has never spewed the dreck while he held public office or worked for a conservative money funnel think tank.

And of course, Trump is all Obama’s fault (warning – Chinlichen Douthat).
