Maybe Don’t Steal SEK’s Shtick
By So I had maybe a little too much fun stealing SEK’s shtick and riffing on my cat picture a couple weeks back. I wanted to do it again, but thought maybe it’s not so nice to work SEK’s side of the street while life is currently beating him about the head and shoulders. So instead I’ve decided to riff on my own pictures. I figure it kills two birds with one stone: I get to be funny, or “funny,” depending on your point of view and I get to show you my latest pieces, which I reckon at least interests 1’s of you. Enjoy!
ME: Hey, what’s up?
Gilt Girl: Not much, just enjoying this dark, cloudy day.
ME: Are you enjoying it?
GG: As much as one can while wearing a 300-lb. skirt.
ME: Yikes, is it really that heavy?
GG: Yes, but the leaves are light at least. I only have 5 or 6 cuts from them falling on me.
ME: Ouch. This seems like an untenable situation…wearing a huge skirt, standing out here under stormy skies while gold leaves cut you.
GG: Ah, but look at how pretty everything looks.
ME: True, but…
GG: PRETTY.
ME: At least you’re royalty; that must be nice.
GG: Oh, I’m not royalty. My creator just stuck this incredibly heavy gold crown and gold roses on my head for shits and giggles.
ME: Well. It all looks…
GG: Insane? Well, blame my creator–she’s bonkers.
ME: Really? I heard she’s supernaturally smart and smells like a field full of hyacinths.
GG: No, she’s really kind of an idiot.
ME: I think I’m going to go now.
GG: OK. I’m going to stand here looking elegant and whimsical while hummingbirds buzz around me in almost rule of thirds formation for no reason.
