When Mike Allen gets buried under his hoarder stacks in his office retires, Andrew Ross Sorkin will gladly take his place.

Although it looks like someone already got to Mylan’s wikipedia page:

Mylan Inc. is a multinational[4] tax avoidance[5] scheme masquerading as a global generic and specialty pharmaceuticals company, recently headquartered in Cecil Township, Pennsylvania but currently in the process of moving their headquarters to The Netherlands in order to profit from United States government purchases while simultaneously reducing the amount that it owes in federal taxes[6].

    • Origami Isopod, Commisar [sic] of Ideology for the Bolsheviks

      Reverted, sadly.

  • Bruce Vail

    Charlie is fine form today.

    • efgoldman

      Yes he is.
Unfortunately, almost every day, one of his posts fails to redirect properly to below the fold. Nothing to do with him, it’s a tech problem.

      • Lee Rudolph

Interestingly (or not), those failures redirect just fine when I access them through lynx on my Unix shell account at Panix. (I should reinstall the Windows version of lynx to see if I can do it at home without logging in to the shell.)

        • I access them through lynx on my Unix shell account at Panix

I had heard that our sexual appetites become broader as we age, but this is the first evidence I’ve seen.

          • They also become aged as we broaden.

May still have a working Lynx somewhere in the file system…

            • tenacitus

I have not used Lynx in years. I always in installed Links web browser instead. It seemed to be a more intuitive tabbed CLI browser.

      • Warren Terra

I’ve never seen this. Esquire’s is the worst website I know of for blog reading (you can’t resize thee text on an iPad, at least in Chrome; all the extra tabs you need to open for each post; all the extra geegaws that load slowly; Facebook registration for commenting), but I haven’t had the particular problem you mention.

        • Malaclypse

It started late last week for me.

        • BigHank53

Yeah, it’s new bug. I’ve only seen it manifest on the Windows box. So far.

      • Dirty Davey

I have only seen it happen in Firefox, and only with posts with an apostrophe (single quote) in the URL. I think it’s something with the way that character gets escaped.

  • Aimai

Anyone else think he meant to write “canker on the shaft of journalism?”

    • Lee Rudolph

      I certainly did.

  • Typical Liberal

All Republicans are evil; Politico needs to treat it that way. The fact that the MSM is only liberal 90% makes them conservative.

    • Malaclypse

The fact that the MSM is only liberal 90% makes them conservative.

You came so close to writing a sentence.

      • Typical Liberal

        • Malaclypse

See how much better trolling works when you show some effort? I mean, you’re still a moron, but you are a moron who has now expressed an actual thought. Well done!

          • Muy Mal

You are the bestest troll-slayer of all!
Had you ignored that drivel it surely would have been a victory for the other team.

            • Muy Mal

And now we have a sub-thread on dedicated to ignorance and faux-retort.
That’s it! You are a retort! I’m so clever.

              • timb

Yeah, you smoke Mal there! Nice work

                • Anonymous

                  smoke or smote?
I think it is big gay Mal that smokes the boys.

                • timb

See, Jennie, here, unlike in your dreams, being gay is not an insult. Now, I do have a certain contempt at the boys who long for the male touch, but turn that into frustration and hate due to societal concerns.

Long and short of it, protein wisdom commenter, Mal will not fuck you, but, if you were to come out of the closet, we would applaud you for your courage. Otherwise, you’re just Marcus Bachman without meaning well

              • Autonomous Coward

                You are a retort

I’ve always thought of him as more of an Erlenmeyer flask.

                • Jennie is a test tube: Narrow, can’t hold a lot of volume, and is easily disposable.

          • Speed Dial

            Practice makes perfect, Jennie.

            • Muy Mal

              No it’s not jennie… it’s K… no, it’s dagchester… no it’s a new troll — examine the syntax and kerning… interesting, huh?

              • Malaclypse

No, the deep-seated obsession with me makes you Jennie. That’s one of your more obvious tells. So we don’t need to guess. Better luck next time, sweet cheeks.

                • Muy Mal

No Mal, I’m just a thorough reader of the comments. Your troll identification method is tiresome. Move on or not. The denial seems strong in you as you really love your certitude. Proud moments, right?

                • timb

The douche is strong with this one. Jennie’s claims not to be Jennie are less than believable

              • shit just got weird

It’s a good thing there aren’t any security holes in WordPress that would allow a fed up reader to retrieve the IP addresses of comments and decide to resolve the troll problem in real life.

We can all sleep easy knowing that it would be impossible to determine, say, what Loudon County government department the primary troll happens to work based on the PTR record for that IP address, because WordPress is well known to be an impenetrable fortress, and we all know our troll is too smart to ever post from his work computer.

                • sibusisodan

primary troll happens to work based on the PTR record

If that doesn’t stand for Primary Troll Record record, I’m going to be disappointed.

                  Standing by to be disappointed.

                • Origami Isopod, Commisar [sic] of Ideology for the Bolsheviks

what Loudon County government department the primary troll happens to work

Yet another tea cracker dependent on government to survive…

                • Hogan

But what if his government job is running a small business? Did you ever think of that?

                • Loudon County? Has any one ever seen Jennie and homophobic shitbird Eugene Delgaudio in the same room?

Sterling isn’t too far away, I could take him some pancakes and see how he reacts.

  • fka AWS

Interestingly, I think JenBob took to trolling a Gawker article yesterday. The style and syntax and arguments were remarkably similar, and ballooned the comments section to well over 600 comments.

    • Muy Mal

So would you argue that enabling the trolls is counter productive?

      • fka AWS

Not from Gawker’s standpoint. Moar engagement/time on site == more ad $. But from a human perspective, yes.

        • Warren Terra

You possibly missed a joke about “counter”.

          • fka AWS

I guess I did. I blame the lack of coffee.

        • NonyNony

And since this site is ad funded, every time a troll reloads the page they also reload ads.

This is why I don’t get bent out of shape about trolls. Even when they’re only here to derail conversations and irritate people they’re still generating ad impressions.

          • Brad Nailer

Trolls are fun! They always help to clarify the issues: “Cheney would have saved the world if not for Obama.” “You’re an idiot.” Like that.

  • fka AWS

Here’s the article in question, which is basically a posting of a John Oliver video:

  • NBarnes

Do chancres pustulate thickly? Constructed that way, I’m not sure they do.

    • rea

      Chancres don’t actually postulate much

      • I ooze therefore I am?

I know everyone loves to hate POolitco (and with good reason) but The Examiner is back to killing trees to spread its garbage and that sucks.

        • horatius

You can go to bed at night with the warm fuzzy feeling that some right-wing douchebag somewhere is busy flushing his cash down the drain on a rag nobody reads.

I like to think that that piece of garbage serves as insulation to some homeless man somewhere in DC, and is therefore more than worth it.

          • True. And the fact they went online only with great fanfare and then had to come back to print has been making me snicker.

    • Origami Isopod, Commisar [sic] of Ideology for the Bolsheviks

      Do they sleep furiously?

  • Another Holocene Human

Loudon County? It all makes sense now!
