Well, if not only people who write in favor of sending people to concentration camps based on their race but the auteur of “Accidental Racist” think that the Rolling Stone cover is in poor taste, who can disagree?

There’s something about the sheer dumbness of this controversy that continues to astound me even though it shouldn’t. Putting a picture of someone on a cover is treated as an endorsement or glamorization if you don’t draw devil’s horns or superimpose a big red “x” or something? (Even if you call the person a “monster” right on the cover!) We can’t trust an audience to make any judgments for itself at all? When did I wake up in a particularly bad episode of an Aaron Sorkin drama?
