I’ve been sick & tired of the Irish since their gawd-awful music was shoved down our collective throat by that Titanic movie & that Riverdance crap.
This horror hasn’t improved my opinion of them any. “Saved western civilization” & then disavowed what they “saved.” Phooey!
James Horner is Irish? Anyway, this is like saying you don’t like Romanian music because of Gheorghe Zamfir (although I love the theme to Picnic at Hanging Rock).

Well, look, you can’t condemn an entire culture just because its music is terrible. Let us not forget Bryan Adams.

Also, I think you are missing the immense help that Riverdance gave to the Northern Ireland Peace Process, by demonstrating to both sides the immediate advantages of putting one’s arms verifiably beyond use.

It is the failure of successive governments to do so that led to Savita’s death.
No, what led to her death was gross medical malpractice.
Forget any and all other treatment decisions. The fact that she wasn’t put on an ambulance and given a police escort to the border a few hrs after admission when the diagnosis was made is indefensible.
Abortions in Northern Ireland are almost as restricted as they are in the Republic – her only hope really was evacuation to England or Wales. Could/would the Irish national health service provide appropriate transport? I doubt it so the only solution would have been for the husband to pay for it himself if they didn’t have insurance.
