The Golf-Playing Male Fortune 500 Executive is the Jew of Gynofascism

LGM’s crack investigative staff has uncovered the sole author of the 2012 Republican platform: Mr. Don Hilbig of Beloit, WI.

I especially like the last paragraph, which aptly summarizes the view of gender relations held by Leon Kass-style conservatives, the Think Like A Man-style of advice books/romantic comedies, etc.:

Many people have observed that if it were not for sex, men and women would rarely come together. Let’s recognize those differences and retain a common sense separateness.

And, indeed, pretty much the only way to discern any internal logic to reactionary sexual mores is if you believe that men have no interest in associating with women if they’re not engaged in sexual relations (that women do not want to be having but will tolerate if they can trap you into paying them to raise children) at the time.

Vice-President Eastwood?

[ 43 ] September 1, 2012 |

Does anyone have more information about this?

Romney advisers so trusted Mr. Eastwood, 82, that unlike with other speakers, they said they did not conduct rehearsals or insist on a script or communicate guidelines for the style or format of his remarks. For Mr. Eastwood, the convention speech was a bit part in a career that has had its political moments. Angered by zoning laws he did not like, he served one two-year term as mayor of Carmel-by-the-Sea in California. In 1988, George Bush briefly considered choosing him as his running mate; he picked Dan Quayle instead.

I know Bush had a wimp image in 1988, but really? Was Eastwood really on some kind of short list? Or is this really legend?

DUCKS!

Today starts another glorious run of University of Oregon football. I’m sure I speak for everyone (which means no one but Farley and myself) when I say that the Ducks are the official college football team of LGM.

Today’s victim is the Arkansas State Red Wolves. I hate those guys. Why? Well, uh, I’m not actually sure. No wait, I do have an Arkansas State story. A friend of mine had a job interview there last year. While on campus, he met with a group of students. One asked a question that went something like this, “So I see you’re from Massachusetts. We don’t like Massachusetts and their liberal ways down here. Are you one of those professors who tries to brainwash students to be liberals.” I swear to god (or Phil Knight) that this is true.

You’d never see such behavior at the University of Oregon, a school of only the most renowned academics and a student body, of which you could never find one as committed or serious to academics (except for most every other big state school and various other private schools, some good high schools, etc). And you’ll never find a billionaire as committed to social change and workplace justice as Uncle Phil Knight. I mean, I usually never support the exploitation of labor, but with rare notable exceptions…..

Anyway, Go Ducks!
