How can any animal be a vegetarian if it itself is made of meat?

This is my son’s reaction to his sister’s latest flirtation with vegetarianism. When she tried this last year she began feeling dizzy and weak, though I cooked her all kinds of extravagant tasty meals packed with soy protein and dairy products.

She heard something through a friend about how people with a certain blood type react badly to the absence of red meat in a diet. She wasn’t able to give me enough information to find out the empirical basis for this if any, though her symptoms went away when she returned to meals of my halal flank steak and free-range organic roast chicken.

Question to readers: what do you know about this alleged relationship between blood type and vegetarianism? I see different things online, some make it look like there’s a connection others call it junk science. All seem fairly politicized. Curious if anyone knows actual scientific studies on the topic or has any experience or wisdom to share. Vegetarian jokes are naturally also welcome on this thread.
