If you believe that US foreign policy can accomplish anything positive (and I do) then Richard Holbrooke’s loss is sad and unfortunate.

From the cheap seats, I didn’t like the Dayton Accords, but it was obvious that he tried. RIP.
For all practical purposes, I don’t. And I suspect the families of a few hundred thousand slaughtered Iraqi civilians agree with me. Good riddance to blood-drenched rubbish.
This morning I sent the following quote to the White House. It’s a good memorial.
“You’ve got to stop this war in Afghanistan.”
