Looks a lot like Imperialism, and I liked Imperialism.
Curious whether Rob is/was a Civ player. It is really the only game I could ever get into – and btw, I think it is very much lacking in its root economic theories. Add some economic realism to that game and it would be perfect.
I strongly encourage you to check out Victoria 2 this August then. Take a look at the forums section of the website I linked above and you’ll see that modeling the pre-WWII world economy was the primary concern of the developers. Heck, you can probably get the first Victoria with it’s expansion Revolutions for something like $5 any more, and its more than worth it from an enjoyment/dollar standpoint.
