If you're going to apostrophe flame, then please use it correctly. "Commas" would be more appropriate than the possessive "comma's."

I'm unemployed but am fortunate enough to qualify for ARRA, which means I make a very affordable payment for COBRA each month and my former employer pays the balance. Untied Hell Care (aka Oxford) took forever to figure out that a large percentage of my payment was subsidized and sent me statements saying I owed $1900 and would be terminated blah blah blah. Unfortunately, the HR person for my employer was terminated and her replacement was useless. Fortunately, my former HR person did contract work and helped me resolve the issue. I think. It took 3 months for them to figure out I was on COBRA. It took another 3-4 months for them to figure out employer was subsidizing payments. And of course I experienced everything Robert articulated so well. It's been a nightmare.

In January, in the middle of a course of Intron-A injections, my insurer announced that self-injectables would no longer be covered by my major medical plan, but would be moved to my prescription drug plan. Since Intron-A is non-formulary ('cause, you know, there are so many substitutes), I would have a 50% co-pay, close to five thousand dollars for four months of injections. My wonderful and talented nurse practitioner jawboned the insurer (on my behalf and that of many others in the same situation) and got them to cover the injections, but only if I went in to the hospital chemo suite to get them done. (That would make it no longer a self-injectable.)

So instead of them paying for the medicine and me injecting it myself, they paid for the medicine *and* the time of a trained chemo nurse. Which admittedly was about twenty seconds once the pharmacy got the stuff there, but still. It's almost like they didn't really think this change all the way through.

Happy birthday to the twins! Knock stuff down.
