In addition, pundits like that can 'work' even after death; I strongly suspect all pundits over the media pundit age (i.e., over 80) are actually dead, and their staffs are assembling columns from previous columns, with enough names of current events and people to make them look like current work.

It wouldn't be hard, and there's a shortage of jobs where recycled, predictable boiler-place BS commands a high price.

Every time I'm tempted to complain about work (as a professor), I'm reminded of this exchange from "All in the Family":
Gloria to Mike: "Tough day at school today?"
Archie: "Yeah, what ya do, bend ya library card?"

I worked on construction through out my college years, one year in highway construction 3 working for American Bridge. The guys I worked with ranged in age from 20 to 50 or so, everyone of the these construction lifers had major injuries on the job, they had missing fingers, permanent limps, bad backs, scars on their arms, faces, scars everywhere. I have a scar on the inside of my right forearm, 8 inches long and a 1/4 of an inch wide from an on the job accident while unloading steel in a railyard. For pussies like Brooks to think blue collar workers, like the ones I worked with, have it easy or don't work hard is insane. Raise retirement to 70 for this kind of work is crazy, most of them don't make it past 50!
