If it’s correct, I’m beginning to remember why I thought that while Kerry would (with the possible exception of Clark) make the best President of the candidates, I thought he was a poor candidate otherwise. This would really be indefensible. You can make a bad veep choice and still win (cf. Bush I, Gore), but it wouldn’t reflect well on Kerry’s judgment and priorities if he picked a veep who adds nothing to the ticket but that he gets along with personally.
