Since the FMA hasn’t passed yet, however, Jesse Taylor notes that the Republicans are getting conservative vanity candidate Ralph Nader on the ballot in Michigan.

Again, let’s remember: Nader’s entire reason d’etre is to complain that the Democrats are insufficiently steadfast on the important issues of the day (you know–steel tariffs, violent videogames, porn, encouraging doctors talk hysterical women out of getting “feticides”, the stuff that really matters to progressives.) Doesn’t this critique become somewhat, ah, more problematic when you’d wear a torn bedsheet at a Klan rally and join the Constitution Party if it could get you on the ballot in Indiana?

But hey, Nader is just doing he wants to do above all–stroking his ego. People who vote for him in 2004, on the other-hand, are knowing, flat-out dupes for the most reactionary elements in American society. Period.
